Is these cars worth $500 together or am i selling them to cheap?

Tokyo Punk Diva asked:

Well, my mother is selling her two cars. My father says to sell them for junk cars for 100-500 together. I highly disagree. I think she should sell them as they are for $1500 apiece, and get more for her money simply because one has a newly built transmission, new brakes and a brand new wheel alignment, but it was in an accident that left it with no damage except a broken tire rod. other than that, it is a 1994 Taurus. the other car is a 1995 Lumina and that has new brakes and runs smoothly, only thing is we left it sitting and it need a new battery. The cars in my opinion just need a little work and is worth more than 500 together, that is why i argue to just sell them as they are for 1500 apiece. Am i right, or is my father right. his argument is that the cars are about 15 years old and are worthless, but i know tons of student drives that have bought older cars for much more, which is why i am saying that. I mean, when the junk Yard see a brand ******** new transmission on that one he bought for 200 hundred buck, he is going to have a field day. i just don't want my mom to be ripped off.

I think it's way to cheap. Around $750-$1,500 would be a good price for these cars.

The 1994 Taurus with the tire rod broken will be costly to fix, but you might be able to sell it just for the transmission for a few hundred. The 1995 Lumina you might be able to get $800 for depending on the mileage and the shape its in. I would sell them separately, not together.
